The Pepsi Challenge Cup Cross Country Ski Race!

The 34th Annual Pepsi Challenge Cup Race will be held March 3, 2018 at Giants Ridge Golf and Ski Resort™ in Biwabik. Giants Ridge has a world class reputation for its race trails and snow grooming. The Ridge has held the World Cup, Olympic Trials, National Collegiate Finals and U. S. National Championships. The Pepsi Challenge Cup is a 50K freestyle race on the world class Nordic Trail System. There are four companion races: Pepsi Challenge 50K Classic, Great River Energy Rush 25K Freestyle, Great River Energy Rush 25K Classic, and Giants Ridge 8K. There is a race to accommodate skiers at every level. The Pepsi Challenge Cup Race is part of the American Ski Marathon Series and serves as a Birkie Qualifier.

    Great River Energy is the race sponsor for the 25K freestyle and 25K classic races. The 25K races will be called the Great River Energy Rush races.

    You can register online There is a service charge to use the online registration service. Otherwise, you can download and print a Mail-in Registration Form or sent to you via email. Online Registration cut-off date is February 23, 2018

  • 2017 Course Maps March 2017

      The course maps may be updated in February 2018. In the meantime, 2017 Pepsi Challenge 8K, 50K, Great River Energy Rush 25K and Stadium maps are available below.
    • 2017 Stadium Map The races will start and finish in the stadium at Giants Ridge.
    • 2017 Pepsi Challenge 8K Map The 8K race will again be run as two laps around a 4K loop.
    • 2017 Pepsi Challenge 50K - Great River Energy Rush 25K Map The Great River Energy Rush 25K race will be one lap around a 25K loop, with the Pepsi Challenge 50K race taking two laps around the loop.
